Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal pulled a surprise on Guardiola's Manchester City in the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup as they ran away with a 4-3 win. The Premier League side managed to dominate the proceedings of the game; however, Morocco goalkeeper Bounou was on top form and kept out Haaland and co. away from the goal. Ederson has long been linked with a departure from Manchester City, thanks to his inconsistent showing under Guardiola. However, earlier this week, the Brazilian claimed that he is going to stay put at the Etihad. He said: "Some friends send me a lot of news but 99% is fake news. I understand you guys.
"You need the news to put a like on social media, or rant for the news. I understand but there's a lot of fake news around my name."
"My head is here. It stays with the city. It gives me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well.
"My mind is staying in the club."
WHAT NEXT FOR MAN CITY?
Guardiola's side are now out of the Club World Cup and will have to prepare for the next season, and it is possible that Ederson may have already played his final game in Manchester City colours. They are said to be interested in signing Porto's Diogo Costa.
