The ex-Manchester United midfielder broke the deadlock for Napoli in the 7th minute of the match from Frank Anguissa's assist before doubling his team's lead minutes before the half-time whistle. The first-half brace took McTominay's league tally to 11 goals as he hit double figures in his very first season in the Serie A.

McTominay's double could prove to be a decisive factor in the 2024-25 Serie A title race as moves Napoli three points clear at the top of the table, with only four matches to go in the season. Earlier on Sunday, Inter surprisingly went down 1-0 against sixth-placed Roma.
