Loris Karius’ Liverpool career will come to an end when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to journalist James Pearce.
The Lowdown: Karius completely out of favour
The German has never really recovered from his nightmare in the 2018 Champions League final, when he single-handedly gifted glory to Real Madrid. Karius has been loaned out numerous times since, not playing a single game for the Reds since that fateful night in Kiev nearly four years ago.
The 28-year-old’s current Liverpool deal expires this summer, at which point he will be free to join another club.

The Latest: Karius to leave in summer
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday morning, Pearce said that Karius would indeed move on to pastures new when his contract runs out, bringing an end to an ultimately disappointing Reds career.
The journalist tweeted: “No move for Karius who will leave as a free agent this summer.”

The Verdict: It’s about time
You have to feel an element of sympathy for Karius, with the mental damage done against Real Madrid seemingly affecting him ever since, considering how he has failed to kick on.
At 28, he needs to be playing regularly, and it makes complete sense for all parties if he leaves Liverpool in the summer, allowing him to begin a fresh chapter in his career somewhere else.
Karius will sadly be seen as one of the few failed signings of the Jurgen Klopp era, having only managed 49 appearances for the Reds and rarely fully convincing between the sticks.
