West Brom have built a successful and well-balanced side this season with quality throughout the squad when it comes to technical ability and dominating games.
That is shown through their average of 54% possession, but one aspect of the squad that often gets overlooked is the strong squad spirit and the players’ belief in the project that is being carried out by Slaven Bilic.
It is that self-confidence and desire which allowed them to overcome their recent dip in form that led them to almost surrender the points advantage they had over the team occupying third-place.
One player who has rightly picked up several plaudits this campaign is Matheus Pereira, who has six goals and 16 Championship assists to boast of, but he exemplifies the combination of ability and spirit.
Bilic’s management is certainly helping him to shine as the Brazilian has never produced numbers like those in a single season, but the friendship he has with fellow midfielder Filip Krovinovic may also be allowing him to excel.
Speaking to A Bola, the 23-year-old said:
“Krovi is like a brother to me. I had a very good feeling about him on the first day. We knew we were going to get along very well. Today we are brothers, on and off the field. We are always together.”

It is rather funny that Pereira and Krovinoivic have such a special friendship given they arrived from rivals Sporting and Benfica respectively, but with the former now a confirmed Baggie he will be hoping that the Croatian follows suit.
Krovinovic may have not reached the same heights as his friend this term but he has still been a useful player for the Midlands outfit with four goal contributions from centre-midfield, and that has earned him fondness amongst fans.
In other news, West Brom could make an improvement to the team if they make this intriguing tactical switch…
