Jordan Pickford appears to have stolen a march on Jack Butland in the race to be England’s number one goalkeeper for the World Cup in Russia this summer, thanks largely to his superior distribution.
He is a young goalkeeper with Premier League experience and aptitude with his feet, that led Football FanCast to ask Arsenal fans whether the Everton man would be a suitable long-term successor for Petr Cech at the Emirates.
Cech has enjoyed an outstanding Premier League career but the Gunners would be wise to have one eye on who could take his place between the sticks eventually.
