It is very easy for football fans to get ahead of themselves when a new signing makes a quick impact, so with that being said, Arsenal supporters are jumping off the ceiling after Alexandre Lacazette scored on his debut.
The Frenchman has a weight of expectation on his shoulders heading into the Premier League season following his club-record £52m move from Lyon.
Lacazette will be tasked with totting up Arsenal’s goal tally, and he has got off to a very good start.
Fifteen minutes after coming on as a 68th-minute substitute in the Gunners’ pre-season friendly against Sydney FC in Australia, Lacazette scored his first goal for the club.
As expected, plenty of Arsenal fans got excited and are now feeling incredibly excited for the season ahead.
Lacazette has proven during his seven years in France that he can be trusted with providing goals.
In total, he scored 129 times in 275 appearances for Lyon, and last season contributed with 37 in 45 outings.
