Aston Villa are set to sign West Bromwich Albion youngster Finn Azaz and loan him out to Newport County upon arrival, according to the Express and Star.
Spending the 2020/21 season on loan at Cheltenham, he registered five goal contributions in 44 appearances, with three goals and two assists [Transfermarkt]. and helping the Robins to win the League Two title.
After turning down a new contract at The Hawthorns, he now looks set to make the move across the Midlands to link up with Aston Villa [Express and Star].
Interestingly, reports suggest that the 20-year-old midfielder could immediately be loaned out to Newport County to build up further first-team experience [Express and Star].
Along with Azaz, Villa are also said to have agreed a deal to sign fellow youngster Tim Iroegbunam from West Brom [Express and Star], with the path across the Midlands becoming an increasingly well-trodden one this summer.
