Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club’s official account confirmed the departures of three players on loan deals until the end of the campaign.
Academy figures Dion Curtis-Henry and Giovanni McGregor – aged 22 and 21 respectively – have been loaned out to National League South sides, with Henry joining Hampton & Richmond Borough while McGregor links up with Dartford.
Scott Banks – who was only recently signed from Scottish Championship outfit Dundee United – has been loaned straight back to the very same division with Alloa United, who are actually second-bottom in the league whereas Dundee United sit top of the tree.
Crystal Palace also confirmed that two more academy players had left the club on deadline day – one on a permanent basis, and one more on loan.
Jason Lokilo teamed up with Doncaster Rovers on Friday evening, while James Daly ended five-and-a-half years at Selhurst Park to join Bristol Rovers.
Let’s see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
To kick off the reaction, Mandy Morgan said “embarrassing transfer window!” – we can understand her frustration as, despite the three men being nothing but fringe options, tweeting that players have left when no signings have come the other way on deadline day is never going to go down well with supporters.
Elsewhere, these three supporters also took aim at the club.
Harry and John both mocked the fact that the Eagles were weakening a squad that was already pretty thin, with the latter fan calling the south Londoners a “joke club”.
Who on earth is that?!?! Can you name all of these obscure January signings?
Also, @aaroncritchard1 also called Crystal Palace a “joke club” – the natives are restless, to say the least.
Meanwhile, Richard implied that the trio will never have a future at Selhurst Park following their loan deals by saying “never to be seen again” after learning of their departures – harsh.
Lastly, Andrew went off on a rant.
He echoed the aforementioned thoughts of Harry and John by saying that the club are currently weaker in personnel than they started the window, before calling the board “an absolute joke” – Andrew also said that the club’s “recruitment is a joke”.
In other news, a move for this Premier League player now seems ‘unlikely’ according to a journalist…
