According to the Daily Mirror (Live Transfer blog, 08/08, 08:48), both Leeds and Rangers are in the race to sign centre-back Steven Caulker from Scottish side Dundee.
What’s the story?
Caulker is still only 26 years of age and joined Dundee in February on a free transfer after leaving Queens Park Rangers at the end of 2017. After difficult loan spells in 2015/16 with both Southampton and Liverpool, Caulker has got his career back 0n track and could now be set for a move away.
The Mirror also reports that both Leeds and Rangers are considering bids of just £1.5m for the former England international, who has one cap and one goal for his country.

The 6ft 3in defender suffered an ankle injury in preseason but played the full 90 minutes as his Dundee side lost 2-1 to St Mirren in their Scottish Premier League opener.
Back to England
If Leeds and Rangers both make bids that are accepted by Dundee, Caulker will have a choice to make based on whether he wants to continue his time in Scotland with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers or if he would prefer to come back to England with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds.
After their hugely impressive performance in the 3-1 home win over Stoke on Sunday, Leeds may well have played themselves into pole position for Caulker’s signature. Left-back Barry Douglas is Bielsa’s only defensive addition so far and the Argentine must persuade Caulker to join him at Elland Road.
The London-born defender would bring a wealth of experience to the Leeds dressing room and at just £1.5m he could certainly be considered a bargain if he finds his best form.
