Tottenham Hotspur may well be looking for a new midfielder during the January transfer window – and certainly next summer – with Mousa Dembele looking to be on his way out of the club.
Another player that could also reportedly be surplus to requirements despite having more of an opportunity in recent weeks is Victor Wanyama, and if the Kenyan were to go it would leave Mauricio Pochettino short of options and depth in the middle of the park.
One player that may well have caught his eye is Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic, rated at £36m by Transfermarkt, who has become a key player for the Serie A giants.
While he may not come on the cheap given his contract at the San Siro isn’t due to run out until 2022, Pochettino will want a top-class replacement for Dembele and Wanyama should the duo exit, and the Croatia international would certainly be that.

The 26-year-old impressed and outshone former Spurs man Luka Modric statistically in the middle of the park for his country in their 2-1 Nations League defeat to England last weekend, and he would certainly bring some quality to the Premier League club’s midfield given he can be effective from both a positive and defensive point of view.
We asked Tottenham supporters to vote on our poll to see whether they thought that Brozovic would be an upgrade on Dembele, and a whopping 70% thought that he would be as you can see from the results below.
