Gerrard has already asked to leave the club for personal reasons, reports, and Al-Ettifaq are set to grant his wish. The team sit 12th in the Saudi Pro League, a whopping 24 points behind leaders Al-Hilal.

Gerrard's future at the Dammam club has been under scrutiny for some time amid their disappointing performances. Speaking after his team's recent 2-2 draw against Al-Wehda, the former Liverpool midfielder said he takes "responsibility" for his team's slip up, adding: "The management of Ettifaq have provided everything the team needs in terms of support and transfers."
