The confrontation reportedly unfolded when both Mourinho and Okan Boruk approached the match officials at the center of the pitch. As Buruk was engaged in conversation, Mourinho came from behind and appeared to pinch his nose, an action that caused Buruk to fall to the ground, holding his face.
WHAT METIN OZTURK SAID
Galatasaray’s vice-president, Metin Ozturk, condemned Mourinho’s actions, describing the incident as an unacceptable attack.
"Our manager, Okan and Mourinho congratulated the referees. After that, while Okan was continuing, Mourinho first verbally and then physically attacked him," he said.
"Where else in the world can he do this? What does he think of Turkey? I believe that Fenerbahce's management will impose the necessary sanction before the federation does."
DID YOU KNOW?
This is not the first time Mourinho has been at odds with Galatasaray. Following a goalless Turkish Super Lig draw in February, the club accused him of making racist remarks, prompting them to initiate legal proceedings against the Portuguese coach. The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) later imposed a four-match suspension and a £35,194 fine on Mourinho for separate infractions. In response to the allegations, Mourinho filed a lawsuit against Galatasaray, citing a violation of his personal rights.
