Wolverhampton Wanderers had to settle for a point on Sunday evening as they extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to an 11th straight match.
Nuno Santo’s side drew 2-2 on the south coast at Brighton and Hove Albion with the two teams playing out an entertaining first half.
Diogo Jota ended a barren run of eight games without a goal contribution by handing Wolves the lead just before the half-hour mark, the Portuguese winger finished off a rapid counter-attacking move.

The home side then turned the game on its head within a matter of seconds. First, striker Neal Maupay slammed a strike in from range which left goalkeeper Rui Patricio rather perplexed before Davy Propper headed in Leandro Trossard’s cross.
Wolves needed Jota to come to the rescue on the stroke of half time as the visitors pounced on a defensive mistake to clinch a point at Brighton.
Following the match, The Athletic’s club correspondent Tim Spiers tweeted out some damning figures surrounding Adama Traore…
All three of the Seagulls’ bookings – Dan Burn, Lewis Dunk and Dale Stephens – came from trying to cynically bring down the 23-year-old winger, leaving fans of the west Midlanders reeling at the treatment he’s been receiving this campaign.
‘Astonishing’ and ‘scathing’ were just a couple of words used to describe the behaviour of opposition players to Traore while one supporter becoming increasingly worried that he’ll pick up an injury soon, which would be detrimental to their season considering the lack of options they have in the squad.
This has also led to a few of the Molineux faithful calling for more to be done in terms of protection…
Others took a more positive look at things, hinting at the fact that the Spaniard’s attributes make him ‘unplayable’ so the only way to stop that is to foul him cynically.
Traore is enjoying a standout year this term having scored three goals and assisted six in all competitions, which is already over double the number of goal contributions he managed in all of last season.
Wolves will hope that Traore stays fit and healthy as he has become such an integral part of their attacking system, playing on the right-hand side of a lethal front three.
The tricky winger is the fifth most fouled player in the Premier League behind the likes of Jack Grealish and Wilfried Zaha, winning a set-piece at an average of 2.4 times per game.
